The 'Madame Pain' show was developed in a collaborative workshop environment within the Aircraft Circus company.

While creating the installation in a warehouse in South London, I collected a basic stock of reusable scenic pieces for the company's future use. Using mostly recycled scenery, donated and found materials, my goal was to create a dynamic, dark, burlesque environment with an appearance that mirrored danger and risk of the performers' acts.

Fully surrounding the audience in an overhead and 360 surround staging, the main challenges were maintaining safety for audience/performers and assembling the recycled elements together in a cohesive way.

Following two sold-out runs in fringe London, the show was retooled for tent performance at Download Festival, featuring four hours of live acts and music.
